Much needed Chinese restaurant in Bethesda! It’s in the old shanghai village building opened by the same dude from Michael's Noodles in Travilah. So glad that I finally got to try Wang Dynasty (after missing Michael's Noodles for so long)! Wang Dynasty is in the former Shanghai Village location, tucked away behind Giant. My SO and I came right before it closed for the evening, so there was only one other table still eating. We started off our meal with spicy wontons which were absolutely delectable. I loved their version of hainan chicken and of course, had to get the standard spinach sautéed with garlic. My SO really enjoyed his salt and pepper pork chops but I didn't care for it.We'll definitely be back to try more dishes!
I'm not eating this food, but not bad.
Pretty tasty. Not too salty, not too spicy. Definitely coming back for seconds.
Quite good. Looks like we have a worthy successor to a favorite neighborhood spot.
One of my favorite spots in Bethesda. The pepper chicken is delicious! Incredible lunch deal
Great option for Szechuan in Bethesda
Enjoyed my lunch there with a friend. The quality of the food was excellent. Definitely worth a visit. I'll be back.
Out with the old, in with the Wang. Love the food.
Great authentic Chinese food
Went on Saturday night. I was surprised the restaurant was not crowded only a handful of tables. Horrible service. Not checked on during meal for refills or to see if we needed anything. Food brought out before appetizer. Clearly they forgot to put in order for appetizer because it took awhile for it to arrive once ordered. Pork dumplings were excellent. Mongolian beef was good. General Tao chicken was okay. Not the best I ever had. Very limited beer options which included one import and two domestic beers if the server was correct. Very disorganized. Not what I expected at all from previous reviews. Clearly they rely on business from the dealership across the street when it is open. The rest of the restaurants we walked past were packed on a Saturday evening during dinner. Will not return.
Good variety of Chinese gourmet dishes.
First of all, I have to say: the food in this store is great! In particular, (signature scallion chicken) waiter also greeted. But the boss doesn't welcome families with children, and the boss can't accept your children's dirty carpets.I have a pair of two-year-old twins. The boss actually uses a pair of "black noodles" and a broom to sweep you and your child's legs continuously during the meal time... Suppose you are the parent of the party and you will not be angry. ?Summary: The boss hates children.
At lunch, we two couple had a good time at cost less than $40. with four menus+soup
Hooray, Wei is back with a new restaurant and her recipes! The restaurant is comfortable and well lit. The waiters are attentive. The food is great! I recommend the eggplant and been curd because the sauce is fantastic. We got a few extra dishes so we could enjoy the food later. Parking is a bit difficult at the restaurant so go for one of the garages.
I had dinner with my daughter and her family in my recent visit to Northern Virginia. The service was great. The owners were very hostile to us for having twin toddlers. The food càme just before the waiter could put in our order. The waiter was Surprised that the noodle soup was cold with cilantro. My grandkids dropped bread crumbs on the floor. The owner swept with a broom around my daughter's feet. This is not a kid friendly restaurant. This is a restaurant for mature and quiet adults. The toilet in this store is extremely hygienic, and the toilet smells bad. I have witnessed the kitchen chef in this restaurant washing the bathroom after finishing the bathroom! !I ask the boss, David, to clean the toilet personally, and the health of the staff is unbelievable. I personally ask you to clean yourself to ensure the hygiene of the restaurant.
I really liked the salt and pepper marinated fried pork chop. The scallion pancake was excellent. My dining companion enjoyed the beef noodle soup but expected more spicy. Some dim sum offered but no cart service. Large menu. Looking forward to trying more items in future visits. Excellent service.
Wang Dynasty is a sumptuous restaurant which deserves its place in Bethesda. It's the best in the area unless you want to head out farther to Rockville or near Annandale. The breakfast menu is awesome especially the savory version of the soymilk. It makes me remind of my wife's hometown in Taiwan. The peking duck is also nice too. Overall, it was a good experience for a good price that won't break the bank!
Decent chinese restaurant near DC. Very clean.
Good food and incredibly good service. Very spacious if you want to host a lot of people. Make sure to order the Peking duck ahead of time though.
The beef lomein is amazing here. We order chinese food alot and this is the best. I am super glad that they are within walking distance to us!
A bit underwhelming - the food was a bit lacking in flavor and the spicy dishes were definitely quite mild. On the upside - dim sum on weekends between 11-3!
Every dish that came out was amazing
Went with some friends from UMD. Food came out really fast! Favorite dish was the Hainan Chicken and some kind of fried pork chops.
New establishment. Very good menu. We will return.
The food is very good. It's very tasty. The portion is smaller than I expected, but the service is very good. Will definitely go there again.
Wang Dynasty had great food! I highly recommend the sliced Taiwanese chicken. Great, clean environment with quick service.
This restaurant just opened on May 1. The proprietor used to operate Michael's Noodles in Rockville, which unfortunately closed two years ago. I've been waiting for her to reopen somewhere else!
Nice and clean. Great lunch specials during the weekday. Kungpao chicken is my favorite!
Truly excellent Chinese food.
This is great addition to downtown Bethesda. First impression is very very good. It is tastefully decorated. Food is great. We ordered from the lunch menu and a pork chop noodle soup. The pork chop is outstanding. Service is good. The menu has many authentic Chinese dishes and dim sum for weekends. We certainly will come back to try out other dishes.Parking: There aren’t too many parking spaces in front of the restaurant. Metered parking is available across the street. There is a Montgomery county parking garage nearby with very reasonable parking rates (free on weekends). It is Garage 57 - Bethesda - Elm Garage with entrances on Bethesda Avenue and Elm Street.
Fantastic Chinese.
Enjoyed food but not the service.
The food is delicious.
Wonderful service and food. My daughter and I enjoyed the dim sum
Taiwanese food, not dimsum as shown on the website
Although I don't post often, I am moved by these dining experiences. Excellence, cozy clean soft ambience pervades. I cannot say enough about the authentic Chinese dishes at the heart of this gem ive found. You need to come and experience the comfort level Wang Palace provides. You must try the delishous fresh delicacy of their delicious shrimp toast, I will never go elsewhere for. Every homemade authentic recipe you are served, is food fit for anyone fickle. Try the Seafood Birds Nest, tender shrimp scallops and lobster sauteed perfectly with Chinese vegetables..in a crisp authentic bird's nest. Crisp to a artful fault. Why did I go on and on about this restaurant? I wish to welcome them to the great town of Rocky Hill CT from their formor residence in Glastonbury! Welcome! Come welcome them yourselves.Sincerely,Linda T. From Wethersfield CT.PS. I can't wait to try
Delicious food served with aplomb. We had 11 people in our party and ordered 12 dished -- every one of them a winner. If I had to pick standouts, I'd go with the whole fish, flash-fried and served Hunan style, and both the Kingdom and Salt-and-pepper pork chops. The beef chow fun was super-fast as well.Highly recommend!
I regularly stop buying some food in this spot. I like the quick service and well cooked dishes. They never disappoint.
One of the better Asian fare options in the immediate area. Not much decor, typical bar and rows of tables and chairs. Food is standard to very good - lots of Chinese-American dishes and a good carry-out option from extensive menu.
So happy to welcome Wang to the neighborhoodFood way above average at reasonable prices. Menu includes high end items not available at other equally priced Chinese restaurants
Excellent. Wonderful Peking duck and whole fish Hunan style.
Very good food pleasant service. My new go to place for Chinese food.
